A little background info

Beagles first date back to the 1500's when English hunters would take packs of these dogs out on hunting trips. Since then they have become one of the most popular breeds in the US. They have short hair and shed an average amount (unless they are like Bailey Beagle and shed an awful lot). Beagles are quite the energetic bunch and should be taken on walks daily which can help to calm down. Hmmm...that may explain why Bailey runs like a maniac in circles, she sure does have a lot of energy. Beagles are very curious and always have their nose to the ground sniffing out another animal or critter, so be careful if you are letting them off a leash because they may not hear you calling them, or may even just ignore you until they find that scent they've picked up. The best trait of the beagle is their loving nature. They are sweet, gentle, and always greet you with a wagging tail (or entire backside).

My Bailey

Let me introduce you to Ms. Bailey Beagle.

Beagles?

Beagles? Yes, beagles. Crazy, sniffing, nose to the ground beagles! I fell in love almost a year ago to an adorable little beagle mix, who has currently stole the hearts of everyone she has met. It took me a couple tries to figure what I want this blog to be about and I've come to the conclusion to follow my heart and create something that is not only for myself, but can be incorporated as a project for students as well. As a graduate student at Johnson and Wales I've been assigned to create a blog, but I also wanted it to be educational; and so it will be. If you didn't know much about beagles before...continue to follow and you will. Hope you enjoy :)
